My name is Vicki Casa-Egan and I’m the writer/director/producer of Vic Video.
My creative life started as a rock and roll singer/songwriter and after many years and searching yet again for a bass player, I left the music business and enrolled at OSU majoring in English. An elective class, Women and Film inspired me to change my major to a Photography & Film BA.
Seemed like the perfect fit after music.
I found a job as a receptionist at SOS Productions where I could learn the video/film business and do my homework. That studio was a great training ground for my budding career. After graduation, I freelanced for years as a producer, location scout, writer, casting director, shooter and props.
I always wanted to do a feature and when I heard a film was being made in Columbus, Uninvited Guest, I jumped at the chance to join the crew as the Line Producer. It was a very challenging and satisfying experience. So much so, we shot another one a few months after, Jacked Up.
I gained life-long knowledge making those movies.
I was recruited to join a new production house, Ozone Studios as their Producer/Writer. We had an amazing team of artists that created beautiful videos. Within a few years we were #1 in the market in sales and a client list featuring all the top companies in town. I was proud to have contributed to that success.
My next opportunity came with Nationwide as their Senior Video Producer. Being in a corporate environment polished my talent as a writer and helped develop my leadership as a Director on set. I was able to travel around the country and shoot interesting stories ranging from catastrophic weather documentaries, agribusiness to philanthropy and product videos. I had a wonderful 16-year career there.
While at Nationwide, I earned my MBA, which helped me start my company, Vic Video confidently. I’m excited about the possibilities and proud to be a woman-owned production company in Columbus. I look forward to telling your story in an engaging, surprising way…let’s get started!
